Statement My practice concerns include architecture, design, urbanism, geography, mathematics, among other disciplines. It examines how their particular representation systems influence our manner to grasp elusive phenomena such as space and time, while establish premises to build different, and even contradictory concepts on the reality. Based upon the research on transformations of visual and material culture, mainly passed down by modern ideologies, my work aims to scrutinize the rational foundations on which this process is sustained, the inputs of prominent visionaries, and the role-played by art into these dynamics. Across wide-ranging media including site - specific installations, sculptures, drawings, objects, along with visual elements such as light, geometry, grids, diagrams, and technical drawing tools; my work have for a long term, pursued to analyze the effects of projective thinking due to modernism in giving shape to our built world. With this purpose, the process often deploy methods of displacement and translation of visual codes to rise questions on the discrepancies between the mental and physical realities. |
