Telluric Projections, 2013
The idea behind Telluric Projections is to rise a reflection on the tensions and discrepancies between natural environment and milieus built by humans. As a response to the context of Armenia, a city devastated for an earthquake in 1999, the group of works shown in this exhibition dealt with the fragility of every human construction and the preeminence of nature and geography. On the other hand, the Museo del Oro Quimbaya, one of the most important buildings designed by Colombian architect Rogelio Salmona, which is located in the same city, acts as a key reference, as it represents a profound understanding of the links that anchor the human constructions to the ground. |
